3D TIMBILAS - PHYSICS / AUDIO / GRAPHICS MODELS

One of the aims of this project is the digital preservation of the Mbila instrumental family by creating dynamic 3D models of it which can perform original (or transformed) samples for composition and performance purposes. Composers will be able to write for acoustic and virtual timbila and performers to trigger the 3D models using sensors technology (currently the kinect). Early 3D models in Blender and MaxMSP via OSC using Synapse were written, recorded and assembled by Ricardo Climent in 2012. In 2013 Manusamo and Bzika interdisciplinary collective of architects and visual artists with an expertise in Augmented Reality and Aurality started to collaborate with the timbila.org project to build professional 3D models of the timbila.
