Sonification and Audible Data research on music composition

Audification at NOVARS contributes to knowledge on data analysis and the interpretation and numerical information flow. It does so from the perspective of sound and musical creativity almost exclusively. Although this research started as a compositional curiosity; e.g. experimenting with different datasets, it evolved into something academically structured which is now worth documenting as a shared research effort. It also documents in some detail the 2-day MANTIS Sonification Symposium on artistic audification. Held in March 3-4, 2018, it featured data in a large-scale 42-genelec surround sound system in concerts, sound installations, informed by a full-day of paper sessions from researchers from around the world.
